Although many of the delegates signed the Declaration of Independence on the 2nd of July, many people think it happened on the 4th, which is why everyone celebrates Independence day on the 4th of July. But putting aside this myth, what are some good ways to spend this proud day? Well, there are many things you can do although most people simply sleep in on one of their few days of rest. However, if you have enough energy to last you through the day, here are some things you can do.
1) The easiest thing you can do is to stay at home and just rest. You can rest lazily on the couch and watch marathons of old sitcoms or catch up on shows that you've never had the time to watch. Or you can just keep sleeping until you can't take it anymore and have to wake up.
2) Another thing you can do is to go out and have a picnic with your family. My family goes out every year with all of our family members and simply eat and talk and have a great time. It's better than staying at home, right?
3) You can visit the local parade that's going on in remembrance of the special day. Watch as cheerleaders, bands, and jugglers pass you by, all in red, white, and blue. Also look out for the giant balloons that are passing by with many faces that you will recognize.
4) Have a party with your friends. Simply make the theme something that has to do with American independence and just get together and have a great time. What better way to show off your pride than dressing up like Abraham Lincoln?
There are many things you can do for Independence Day, it's up to your imagination to tie everything together and make it a success.
